cardiotocography
Cardiotocography (CTG)
Monitoring Fetal Well-Being
At Gagua Clinic, we use an enhanced cardiotocography (CTG) method during pregnancy. This advanced approach allows for a faster and more comprehensive assessment of both fetal well-being and uterine activity.
During the Examination, We Assess:
- Baseline fetal heart rate
- Presence of cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heart rhythms)
- Additional heart sounds that may indicate congenital heart abnormalities
- Fetal compensatory and adaptive capacity
- Fetal central nervous system status
- Placental functional status
- Signs of chronic fetal hypoxia (oxygen deprivation)
- Signs of post-term pregnancy
- Development of acute fetal hypoxia following stress
- Degree of umbilical cord entanglement
- Uterine tone and contractile activity
Recommended Schedule
- 28–36 weeks of pregnancy: every 2 weeks
- 36–40 weeks of pregnancy: once a week
- 40–42 weeks of pregnancy: every 2–3 days
Indications for Immediate Assessment
An urgent CTG examination is recommended in the following situations:
- Maternal health concerns (medical conditions, stress, poisoning, or other complications)
- Abnormal findings on ultrasound or Doppler examination
- Significant changes in fetal movements, including a noticeable decrease or increase
At Gagua Clinic, cardiotocography is performed by experienced specialists using modern equipment to ensure continuous monitoring of fetal well-being and timely clinical decision-making throughout pregnancy.
