Advices after pregnancy
1 Year
Development at 12 Months (1 Year)
Congratulations—your baby is now 1 year old! The first year of life is one of the most remarkable periods of physical, cognitive, and emotional development, with more rapid changes than at any other stage of childhood.
Physical Development
- Sits down and stands up independently.
- Walks independently or with minimal assistance.
- Chews a variety of solid foods.
Cognitive and Social Development
- Says several simple words.
- Expresses frustration when something is not allowed.
- Recognizes and responds to the names of close family members.
- Interacts differently with different family members.
- Expresses emotions when greeting or saying goodbye.
- Shows clear preferences and interests.
- Tries to participate in dressing and bathing, such as lifting their arms to help.
Around the age of one, many children begin to assert their independence. Encourage this growing confidence by allowing your child to make simple, age-appropriate choices, such as selecting between two outfits, choosing a healthy snack, or picking a favorite toy or activity.
